About Verbum
Mission
Verbum exists to give Scripture a quiet home on Apple devices. We challenge bloated, feed-driven Bible apps with an offline-first sanctuary: no ads, no social metrics, no tracking backends — only the Word, liturgy, and on-device intelligence.
How Verbum is funded
The app is 100% free with zero ads. Optional one-time or recurring tips through Apple’s App Store help fund development and Bible society licensing for modern translations. There is no Verbum subscription paywall for core reading.
Languages & translations
UI and bundled Bibles ship in Portuguese (pt-BR), Spanish, and English. Default texts at launch: Almeida (ARC), Reina-Valera 1909, and the World English Bible.
Platform
Native SwiftUI for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Bibles live in on-device SwiftData. Annotations sync via the user’s private CloudKit container. Study AI uses Apple Foundation Models when available.
